My name is Long Nguyen. I graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM (Mass Communication with a concentration in Advertising and a minor in Management). I am temporarily based out of the SF Bay Area.
I consider myself an adventure/sports journalist, and I go wherever my camera takes me – for the thrill of an adventure and the action of the sport. I enjoy photographing many things but emphasis in mountain biking.
Photography is something I learned on my owned. Ever since my friends got me into mountain biking, I always had this urge to document my friends and I on our adventures. Luckily one day I found my dad’s old film camera and it was all downhill from there. I shot rolls after rolls of film. My family gave in and got me a digital camera one Christmas (developing got to expensive). At this time it was a hobby, something I enjoyed doing for fun.
After shooting a few random jobs I realized what I wanted to do. Finish college, take images, travel, and love what I am doing. I told myself that I didn’t want to look back one day and say, “I should have done that or this”. Even though it has been no easy path pursing a dream, it has been worth every minute.
I have been lucky to travel the world and meet new people on all my journeys. In the end nun of this would have been possible with out the support of my family and friends. I continue to live for the quest and with photography; I can look forward to a never-ending thrill-ride.
